Chapter One
“Commander Marin C. Cador reporting!” Marin saluted upon entering the bridge but refused to break her stride. “Status.”
“Commander we are being waylaid by several frigates equipped with warp scramblers. Shields are at 80% and falling. Some sort of new ammunition, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Fleet status.”
“The fleet remains in the Nerexus system, zero activity.”
“Thank you Captain.”
“Commander.”
“Operator, lock seven targets and give me ship scans.”
“Commander, shields have dropped to 30 percent.”
“I’m well aware Captain, Operator?”
“Commander, I have four locks and no scans, we can’t get past their electronic countermeasures.”
Science Fiction Project
Well it’s official, I’ve started a Sci-Fi.
After a long conversation with my cousins about the complications of space travel. (With Mass Effect 2 in the background) I’ve become enveloped in the joys of Science Fiction. (I also started playing EVE for a bit)
Before you think to yourself Oh great, I thought I would shed a little light on what I’m doing to break the stereotype.
1. Although I’m not sure exactly when this story will take place, I’m constantly dating it in the near future with the technology given. Don’t think Holo-decks or transporters or anything too fantastic. Computers still have QWERTY keyboards and “Screens” are still High-Definition TVs.
2. Space is not traversed by anyone and everyone. Only Government and Military have access to galaxy space. Earth is facing a harsh rebellion. Renegade pro-space travel activists are constantly attacking Government property in attempts to force them to open up space to civilians. Rebel movements and underground networks are constantly working towards free travel for ALL.
3. It is a very critical time in human history. With humans now conquering space, the government has launched a galaxy wide comb, in search of new forms of life or planets with the possibility of colonization. So far there are no known races/aliens/cyborgs/robots discovered, but that’s not to say some may be along the road.
4. You will be taken by the hand on an adventure across the galaxy filled with treachery, compassion, war, love, heroes and villains. Experience the beginning of the space age and the problems that arise with it.
